Why do people think Zabuza is so weak?

I agree he is by no means weak, he gave Kakashi a run for his money, but that was pre mangekyo sharingan Kakashi so less dangerous, but he isn't weak.

Zabuza is Kurenai level imo. He's not weak, but he's definitely not strong compared to others

Zabuza is definitely not weak. He just made his appearance only in part one when the power level was different so people are just forgetting about him. He is a strong ninja, not a very strong one, but with his own tricks and a great sword with o unique ability.

Because he got trolled by plot no jutsu. He apparently attempted a coup against the Mizukage that was being controlled by tobi and survived. Yet since people didn't see that they forget it. Instead all the attention is directed to the fact that Zabuza got trolled by a part 1 kakashi (which isn't that good compared to part 2).

He is strong but not amazing IMO. Excellent Assassin, but there are still way better shinobi.

He was the villain of the FIRST real story arc. His perpose was honestly to be he big, scary grownup who takes team 7's Life-Or-Death virginity. His story was cool and hes one of the more badass villains, but strength wise, you cant argue with the timeline.
