People call Naruto a bad father because he doesn't spend 24/7 with Boruto. They say stupid stuff like "He could leave a shadow clone with Boruto."
Well I think the people who say that would make bad parents, because if Naruto did that he would be spoiling his son and making him weaker.
A lesson that every kid needs to learn is that life requires prioritizing. There is a time for leisure and a time for work! Those times vary from individual to individual based on things like schedule and occupation.
By spoiling Boruto with a shadow clone all the time, Boruto would never come to learn this lesson. Obliging Boruto with a shadow clone would tell Boruto that his leisure came first and foremost above every responsibility. Boruto would never have to experience sacrificing leisure for a more important purpose. As a result, Boruto would grow up and spoil his own kids rotten. Instead of doing what was best for his kids or for anyone else who depends on him, he'd just ditch every priority to make his kids happy.
Society can't work in this way. Plus look at some other kids:
Himawari gets just as little time to spend with Naruto as Boruto, but she doesn't seem to be a brat.
Shikadai's father is Naruto's advisor, so he likely doesn't get much time with his father either. He's not such a brat!
Sarada's had her bratty moments, but she is not as bad as Boruto and her father wasn't even there for years!
There is no excuse for Boruto. He is a brat.
