[Discussion] Why do people think that being a virgin is a bad thing?

I see nothing wrong with being a virgin. It's their choice, and if people say that over the internet than that's especially wrong, since we don't know each other.

And I also hate the kitchen jokes. I remember a member told me to get into the kitchen, took all I had not to flame him, since I remembered it was only internet talk. xd

xd I know, it's so strange...the kitchen is my territory and women should stay out of it. j/k

Right, and I guess that's what I'm trying to get at the bottom of. Is it some sick delusion that guys aren't "cool" if they're virgins? They should be considered cooler if they stand above the crowd. So that's where I think jealousy plays a major role...

sorry, if i may... the thing is some ladies do have weird anatomical features in their reproductive organs that makes them bleed during the intercorse or we should say they want to make love.. and some cases is that, women who tend to do household choires or do extreme sport can get virginize without noticing it.

I see this all the time. People constantly saying "I smell a virgin", or something stupid like that. Is it because they're jealous that someone still has it? Or is it some sad attempt to try and make someone feel bad?

It's just stupid. I mean really? It's like the "kitchen" jokes (which I hate with an unquenchable hatred); if someone still has their virginity (and old enough to lose it), they should be applauded instead...especially in this world.

You're absolutely right ,there's nothing wrong with being a virgin it's just that lately in this world that we're living in people are becoming more and more stupid , a lot of people think that if you're virgin then you're stupid/retarded/not cool it's the excat same thing as if you're being polite and respectful with people they consider you weak and a lot of other stuff so don't listen to this ignorant people who say this kinda of jokes you'll only waste your time.

I also wonder though, would it be so bad if someone actually chose not to ever do it? I know that there's religions which hold life-long virgins to be honorable. Just something to add to the whole dicussion.

It's a cliche that gets passed on by western highschool drama.

Judging someone based on their status...is pretty silly. Unless they're a player - that's when you can make a decision whether a person is trustworthy or not.

I couldn't care less about someone being a virgin or not...it would be nice though if my future partner was when it comes to it though.
