Do you think they are better off dead, lol?
When I was at my grandfather's funeral, there was close family, strangers, and even enemies that did not like him most their life that was there. Those bastards never even cared about the guy, but once he dies then you want to show up to his funeral and start crying on someones shoulder like you actually give a fuq?

It seems like when someone dies, then everyone is shocked and suddenly cares about them more then when they were alive. I know that Michael Jackson wasn't well liked by other people, but look at his death. Once he died, peoples started suddenly caring for the guy.

Why do people honour people when they die when you don't even give a shit when they are alive? You know, when they can actually breath, hear, taste, touch, smell, and speak for fuqs sake...

When celebrities die lots of people care for some reason.
If an average Joe dies, no one other than family or friends care.
People die daily all over the world but it's like, "oh well."
Of course going to someone's funeral that you didn't like seems disrespectful.
I dunno. It's just the way it goes.

You tend to feel differently about someone when they die. Some people try to look past they differences they've had with the individual since it no longer matters.

Because they are sheep who follow. Ironically, it's a common human trait. They do not want to damage their image so they go along with the crowd and look at their fake mourning as a way to make new friends or strengthen bonds. I've witnessed it myself. This boy died and suddenly everybody was claiming they were his close friends and acting for attention. He wasn't even a nice person (least offence intended). He was a bully and a criminal who died running away from the law in a car crash. I can understand those that were close to him mourning but the people who only knew his name (or not even his real name) who fake their mourning is an utter disrespect and I can't stand it. Give it a month or so and you'll see who really cared.

This right here.

Similar thing has happened where I live, a racist, homophobic prick has died and since then, he's turned into a saint with constant news coverage.
