Being an Uchiha and having the Sharingan, of course he's going to get his own power through different means like his emotions being set ablaze. But he still has to awaken the powers and learn how to use them properly, I'd say most of the fighting he's done so far is to get accustomed to his powers. The only real "handout" that he had was from Hagoromo.
I don't count Itachi's as a handout because everything he's doing with Itachi's eyes, he had already begun to master with his old eyes, like amaterasu and Susano'o. With this he just doesn't feel pain or go blind anymore. I see it much more of as a pain reliever than anything else. It's also funny because the ones who accuse him of this turn a blind eye to Naruto.
He has had the worst handouts as of late. He use to train like hell to get them but now he just relies on tailed beasts chakra. This entire war he has used tailed beast chakra the entire time bar like, the 3rd Raikage fight. It's not even deniable because everytime he does it; he's like "lend me your chakra" or "thanks Kurama".
Even if you were to compare Itachi's eyes (which I had just proved why that's stupid as fu*k), that's almost nothing in comparison to 9 tailed beasts chakra. That's Llke comparing a Bugatti parking floor to an 05' camry.
