[Discussion] Why do people love Naruto but hate Sasuke?

Easy, because Naruto is kind hearted and protects the people that once hated him, while Sasuke is a pompous jerk, who hates even one and will use you just for his own personal gain. (Nearly killing Karin and leaving Jugo and Suigetsu after they saved him numerous times.

And if there was no Kurama in Naruto then there would be a dead Sasuke and Naruto. Haku would've killed them both after Sasuke jumped to save Naruto. End of Story. New name "Kakashi!" and "Kakashi Shippuden!".

It just doesnt make sense to me why people love Naruto but hate on Sasuke. There two different characters and but I think the plot for both of them and there development has be really outstanding. And I don t want to hear he trolls his EMS cause Naruto trolls all of his moves for almost ten years now. Oh hes emo lmao no he is just crazed if everyone was killed one night and then you find out it was the very clan you have be protecting I would be blood hungry to. Mainly because Naruto is the main character I believe - and Sasuke is hating on everything and everyone. The biggest part of why people hate Sasuke, is because of his ridiculous fanboys I think. They tend to argue and come up with some bullsh** stories on how he will rule this world and so on.

That's because Naruto talked to Haku before, if he had no Kurama, his ideals would be totally different. Therefore, his talk with Haku would've been either A) The same B) Antagonizing or C) Never happened.
No Kurama = No Naruto and Sasuke

That's not true for everyone. I personally liked Sasuke from the first time he appeared in the series. His character is actually why I followed the series' first part.
On the other hand I never liked Naruto for a simple reason : he is damn stupid and naive.

Generally people tend to support the main character though and also Sasuke-like character who are arrogant , rude and so on are difficult to be liked unless you are such a person yourself. So in the end it has to do which character you can relate to yourself.

I'll take flak for it, but I've disliked Naruto's character since Part 1, and even more so in Part 2. Besides being a stupid annoying chump, he naively believes that everyone can be saved through The Power of Love and other silly tropes. He's an annoying main character that we're stuck to deal with in a series with otherwise complex villains and subplots. He's so annoying that Kishi had to turn Sasuke evil just so that people would stop comparing Naruto to Sasuke (and for awhile it sort of worked).

I am one of the only fans of the series I know that genuinely dislikes Naruto as a character. I don't hate him, but rather find Sasuke to be a much more interesting and dynamic force in the series. Naruto just keeps getting stupidly more powerful modes that he can activate and beats people down with talk jutsu. I think Kishi is going to upset fans majorly when Sasuke vs. Naruto comes around and Naruto gets owned hard.

I love flashbacks and personally think that Sasuke had a harder life than Naruto. Naruto was just ignored then he got friends, but Sasuke saw his parents bloody and murdered by his own brother who he thought was gentle and kind. Sasuke may have had his family killed, but he had dozens of friends and admirers plus he has natural talent and he actually lived 8 happy years at with his loved ones. Naruto on the other hand, never had any friends, family, or natural talent. He has to work hard just to be able to prove to himself to others, something that Sasuke never had to do. Are you seriously saying that Sasuke could beat Naruto right now? Because Im pretty sure Sasuke couldnt have done any of the things Naruto has done in the war so far. In fact Im pretty sure Itachi carryed sasuke through the fight with kabuto

Let's go through this step by step.
1. When Sasuke met Naruto over the break again, Naruto had just finished fighting Orochimaru and had the 9-tails chakra forcibly sealed back inside of him. On top of that, Naruto was overcome with emotion by seeing his old "friend" again and chose not to fight Sasuke. He never intended to fight Sasuke at all, just try to convince him to return. He also didn't "get his ass handed over" either. Sasuke only had time to stab Yamato before he and Oro teleported away. Naruto and Sasuke never even fought.

2. You claim that Naruto only learned a few rasengan upgrades over the time skip. Quite contrarily, Naruto could effectively go up to 3 tails without losing control. Naruto aged abit and increased his general abilities. The timeskip doesn't seem to have that much effect because everyone else also improved alot. You have to keep in mind though that naruto was on even grounds with S-class ninja like deidara. So it might not have seemed like naruto didn't learn alot because he did not learned any new jutsu, he merely improved his basics which he lacked.

3.He got his ass handed over to Pain using sage mode, you say? I'm not sure which fight you saw, but the one I was watching, Naruto effectively destroyed 5 out of Pain's 6 paths. In fact, Pain was utterly unable to harm Naruto in any way when Naruto was in sage mode, and had to completely wait for sage mode to dispel in order to hurt him. He also used the mode later on when he fought against Kurama, the 3rd Raikage, the 2nd Mizukage, Nagato, Madara, and Tobi's 6 paths.

4. "He just cheats his way through [battles] with the Kyuubi's chakra." If we think back through Shippuden, we will realize that Naruto has not once defeated an enemy relying on only the Kyubbi's chakra. Ever since the time skip, the Kyubbi has only seemed to have gotten in the way, as a reason for Kakashi or Yamato to seal it back within Naruto. He went 4 tails on Oro, but was unable to defeat him then, and if you had read the part of the thread from before, we figure that there is a possibility that Naruto could have defeated Pain a lot more simply had the Kyubbi not been inside him at all.

5. Let's compare a few strategies, shall we?
Naruto vs. Preta, Naraka, and Deva Pain:
Create 2 shadow clones. Place a cloud of smoke. Run towards Preta Pain disguised as Rasenshuriken and have him absorb transformation jutsu. Tackle Preta to ground, making sure to cover eyes, and proceed to crush throat. First clone throws real Rasenshuriken at Deva Pain while the Second clone simultaneously jumps high, out of field of vision, to Destroy Naraka Pain on the way back down with a Rasengan Barrage.

Sasuke vs. Danzo:
Activate Susanoo. Fire Susanoo arrows. Repeat until win.

dont compare sasuke and naruto in battle strategy sasuke beats him in that field hands down and u wrong in the danzo situation.sasuke spamming was a strategy to force danzo to use up izanagi and then defeated him with a clever genjutsu

This is like why ppl hate terrorists nd love peace lovers. Why love Naruto-He never gives up, cheerful, funny, has max. growth rate(learned Rasenshuriken, SM nd BM Tec. in less than a yr.) nd his ever lasting bond fr Sasuke even if he does nt care fr him. Sasuke was 1 of my most hated characters frm the beginning. Hes proud, thnks no end of himself, nt caring about his frnds feelings, adopting the wrong path nd joining hands with Oro nd nt caring about his bro's dreams nd words fr which he sacrificed his life-fr him nd the village nd he want to end it all-even his homeland, what would he get? Sasuke is really quite the interesting charecter. I don't hate Sasuke, and As far as I'm concerned, he is not Sasuke anymore. The way Kishi has written Naruto, at the beginning, people hate him, In the middle, people love him, and now, he isn't even Sasuke to me anymore. Kishi has turned him into a dirtbag, so naturally people have begun to hate him.
