Why do people keep comparing Naruto and Sasuke?

Uhm, yeah.. The title explains itself, but I'll ask formally. Why do
you keep on comparing those two if Kishimoto has already made it known
that they are and will forever be EQUALS? Forget the fact that Naruto's the main character, Kishi's made it known that Sasuke is too. So really, what's the problem here? Can't everyone agree, or agree to disagree? :shrug:

People compare because naruto vs sasuke is probably the most emphasised rivalry so it's only natural for some people to end it by deciding and arguing over who's is the better one

Because they're rivals and that's what fans do with rival characters even though by definition rivalry is a type of writing character basis where two or more characters equal in skill but varying in personality are pitted against one another as a way of developing the characters in plot and personality.

Yes, that's true. But it's hard to take some of these fans seriously (Sasuke or Naruto) when fans ONLY base victories off of their movesets. Pretty much they compare their battle in a Pokemon'esque fashion.. Without much thought of other abilities and factors that could decide either of their victories.
