Why do people have an impression Sasuke can beat the Kages?

Sasuke never even intended to fight them.:| He didn't go their with the intention of kicking everybody's ass. If that was the case, he wouldn't be hiding in the first place, nor would he flee from Gaara and Ay by breaking the pillars, or Mei by punching a hole in the wall. Not only that, you're comparing a much weaker Sasuke to the current one.

Your first line is completely wrong in regards to the actual events within the manga -

- Gaara saved Ae. This is what the manga states and this is what is canon.
- Mei was not holding back and she was aided by her bodyguard.
- By the time Onoki intervened, Sasuke was not even fighting him.

You also forgot how ALL Kages didn't fight alone but were aided by their body-guards. Considering that Sasuke took all of them on unaided from when Ae and him clashed says a lot. Don't blow things out of proposition.

When Sasuke recklessly intervened the 5 Kage Summit he by the looks of it, was fully confident he can hand everybodies asses to them. But he nearly got killed and were saved 3 times!

• Despite Ay's risk at death of the black flames, he still didnt give a damn and wanted to kill Sasuke, then Gaara saved both of them.

• Mizukage Mei nearly killed him, but she was holding back obviously.

• Onoki nearly took him out of existence till Tobi arrived.

All this and Madara single handed played with the 5 Kage like its nothing.

And what's even more cynical is that fans say Sasuke > Muu or Sasuke > 3rd Raikage. Lol WTF? Wasnt the previous Kage far stronger than the new ones anyway? Sasuke did have a hard time with Ay and Mei respectively.

I know he is stronger now but its freaking Kage's, not your average Jounin.

You can't compare Sasuke vs 5 Kage to Madara vs 5 Kage.

1) Only 3 of 5 Kage were fighting Sasuke to which they only failed because someone intervened
Ay could have easily smashed Sasuke if he didn't activate Susanoo but even then, Sasuke still got injured.

2) If Madara wasn't an Edo Tensei, the 5 Kage would have smashed his ***** ass like the fodder he is. It's only due to his regenerative capabilities that he's still alive and well, hell even a Kyuubi Enhanced Lee deuced him with 1 kick.

3) The Kage weren't even putting in much effort save for Ay who went full power due to wanting to obliterate Sasuke (I mean who would show mercy against someone who killed your brother), if they went full power Sasuke would've been dead.

4) Old Sasuke, new Sasuke, it doesn't matter. He hardly got any new power-ups since the kage summit, only a new MS design and better enton control. Big Deal. Oonoki is enough to wipe him out, low-diff.

Sasuke may be Kage-Level, but he isn't powerful enough to take on the Kage. Can't even take on Ay himself. He goes in as if he's a badass, then gets saved 3 times like the bee-i-itch he is.
