Because he promises too much, too intrusive, annoying, always thinks his experiences has some sort of relevance, he only believes his plan is the right plan, and somehow people may get naive enough to stop their own plans to go with his instead. (How many people has he persuaded? I bet it's more than any Sharingan user has ever persuaded.)
Also, Naruto's parents were known figures, and that he was born with a fox ****. If he had some "ordinary" parents that died, who weren't so well acquainted with the village with certain figures, and if he didn't have Kurama; annoying, cocky kid with mediocre potential that nobody ever noticed. Potential so untapped, that he did suicide.
