Why do people dislike naruto's character?

I don't dislike him, but he doesn't appeal to me because his whole peace and love mentality is boring and unrealistic to me. I prefer characters who have a cold side. I don't mind Naruto wanting to help everyone, but the fact that he believes love is the answer to everything irks me. Also, most of the time he fights, it always has huge speeches and flashbacks.

I don't like his fans, but I also don't like his character personality.

Fans are annoying because they clearly know that everything he does is fake and plot based.

I hate his personality because I just don't like the little faces and stuff, especially while in the war. You can say its Kishi's fault but Kishi made him so 50/50.
Which is also why I favor sasuke over him.

Naruto just forgives the village after making his childhood a living hell. This could have been averted easily. Have Naruto fight to defend his comrades in the village, not everyone including the hateful bigots. Then when Naruto does get acknowledgment and someone wants his autograph, he should have punched them in the face. These hateful bigots ignored him or physiologically tortured him. that she hould not be easily forgiven. It creates the "moral" that you can abuse something and it will stay loyal to you and defend you.

His fighting style is not versatile

By that logic, Naruto should hate his parents because they sealed Kurama in him and that caused that to happen. And to be fair, many people didn't understand how being a Jinchuriki works, not many people understood that the Fox was IN Naruto, many believed Naruto and the Fox were one and the same. That's why they had a resentment towards Naruto. Naruto was lonely because the villagers were protecting their children, they didn't want their kids near Naruto in case the Fox rampaged again.

Why would Naruto punch the guy in the face? The people aren't bigots at all. Naruto's entire goal was to show them that he was a good person and not someone who they needed to hate. The village saw Naruto as the Fox, then they saw him as a person, and then he proved his worth against Pein. You aren't just given appreciation, you EARN it, and Naruto fully earned it after the Pein fight.

OT: I think the main problem people have with Naruto's personality is that it's the same personality for all Shonen Jump protagonists. Goku, Luffy, Natsu, Yoh, Naruto. All of them are of low to average intelligence who are experts in thinking on their feet during battles and alway stay on the righteous path no matter what. The Saviour architype is not the only architype a protagonist should have.

There is the reluctant hero: guys who don't want to accept the saviour role in the begining but grow into it and eventually except their role
The Anit-hero: Think Death Note's Light Yagami
The Brooding Hero: Hero's like Batman and Angel

That's to name a few. Shonen manga don't stray outside the loveable, dumb, talk you out of anything or beat you sensless Architype. It's been seen so much that readers/watchers tend to shy away from the hero in favor of a character that seems more based in reality. No 2 heroes are the same. And the only difference the Shonen heroes have are their powers and looks.

But Raekwon, isnt that kinda expected since his name itself rhymes with 'savior'? I agree he's ignorant on some fins but after experiencing so much and still having that sort of will is kinda inspiring to others u know. I respect your opinion but i find it a lil extreme.

Yes I wholehartedly agree with your point. and there in lies the problem with Naruto. The "twists" in Naruto never seem to really phase Naruto overall save for Jiraiya's death. The Saviour architype if fine and all for Naruto as he is the child of prophecy. But as others have stated, where's the versatility? Where is the doubt? Naruto, frequently, acts like he is still 12.

"I will end this entire war myself"

"I will stop Madara and Obito without letting anyone die"

Even as a Saviour, these kinds of statements are rather immature and unrealistic in a true Saviour. Saviours don't do anything on their own. Even Itachi mentioned this to Naruto and it's like it went into one ear and out the other. I don't have anything against Naruto. I was fine with his character in part I as he was young. He is what? 18 now? And I really haven't seen a progression in his way of thinking or how he views the world.

Naruto is suppose to be a prankster like the fox spirits of mythology. But when's the last time he actually played a prank on anyone? another poster put it best in saying that Naruto's overall character has been detoured since this war started.

Look at Sasuke for example: We've seen a clear and distinct change in his development over the course of the series. He went from Avenger, to maniac, to where he is now, a young man attempting to find his own path in the world that has made him what he is. In many ways, Sasuke's character development is far more developed then Naruto's.

1. His repetoire of Ninjutsu - It sucks. Shadow Clones and Rasengan. Why this fu*ker can't learn something besides Shadow Clones and Rasengan.
