Itachi even ripped of both of Nagato arms off did you ignore that factor? The only reason Nagato was able to continue the fight was because he had regenerating powers from edo tensei. Without the Naraka Path his awareness isn't as good as when he uses 6POP so I'm doubtful he would be able to stop Amaterasu before it's severly burns him

Well, with regards to the arms being burned off by Amaterasu, that only happened while Nagato wasn't trying to fight. As soon as Kabuto assumed control, Nagato easily repelled the flames, and could have done so (or absorbed them) from the start.

However, Itachi was a beast in that fight! He easily handled the summons, figured out how to counter Chibaku Tensei, and sealed Nagato.

But you are forgetting a point that killer b and naruto fell for kabuto's bait as they first believed nagato to be his own. They were talking to nagato as friends. But suddenly, kabuto took control over nagato. At that moment both killer b and naruto were restricting to attack him as they were considering him as their ally. Due to this, kabuto took advantage of it and used nagato to beat them. Please reread manga.

Itachi is surely a good shinobi and consider to be among top 20 shinobis of all times but UNFORTUNATELY HE CANT BEAT CONSCIOUS NAGATO. Accept it! One shinra tensei and Chibaku tensei could turn itachi's body into several pieces of flesh.

1.) That fight didn't give Nagato a chance to show his full potential. During the battle Nagato gave away most of his abilities to help them out and then Kabuto was even saying "Hmm what justus does he have? ....Oh yeah!", which to me shows that he didn't know how to control Nagato well at all.

2.) Now this might be debatable but IMO I don't see a MS genjutsu user landing a genjutsu on the higher evolved rinnegan (ESPECIALLY Madara's rinnegan). If so then why didn't Itachi try it? It's his speciality after all.

3.) Let's not forget that Itachi had to use his strongest technique against CT and even acknowledged it himself that he needed help from the two most powerful jinchurikis.

4.) Itachi only landed hits because Nagato/Kabuto was constantly distracted by fighting Naruto and B. Itachi never once fought Nagato directly.

5.) When Itachi used Amaterasu, Kabuto just sat there talking out of shock and anger at Itachi. He never even did anything with Nagato for a while and just left him laying down. If Nagato was fully conscious then of course he would have used shinra tensei or preta path right away and countered. Do you remember that Nagato could sense when eye techs were being used?

I friggin love Itachi like a lot of people, but you have to acknowledge that in a straight up, 1v1 fight with Nagato only his extremely convenient spiritual weapons would be his only chance for survival. I don't even consider that as Itachi's own skill and apower since anyone could be god lvl with that in their posession. Heck, even tenten with totsuka and yata could beat Kaguya lol.

Itachi's contribution's were immense in the 4th ninja war. He broke out of Kabuto's control, soloed Nagato, undo the edo tensei and most importantly he reformed Kabuto back into his former self who later help save Sasuke and now runs an orphanage in Konoha.

Totsuka negs CT? Why didn't Itachi do that then since his susanoo was already out?

And no Yasaka does not "blitz". Why didn't he just take on CT by himself then?

He had unlimited Chakra, if he wanted to he could have taken it out by himself with Yasaka Magatama spam blitz gg.

He didn't have Totsuka out at the moment.

And Totsuka Blade can cut through anything(including CT) and seal anyone it pierces.

Besides Tsukuyomi negs Nagato zero diff.
