Why do they assume that naruto's black balls are onmyoudon? I don't remember this being stated in the manga. For all we know it could be mini-bijuudama.

Possible, since it wasn't stated directly that they are or aren't.

But it can easily be assumed that it is Onmyoudon (or Truth Seeking Balls) given how Obito had em and Madara has em. It's just part of the power up.

I was only refering to Naruto's black balls and not Madara's. I'm not trying to hate on Naruto (my 2nd fav.) but I originally tought he had minibijuudama floating around him. Some of you guys seem to think its ridiculous but Naruto also had rasengans floating around him. We know that rasengan is based on bijuudama. So why is it ridiculous to think that he can freely manipulate minibijuudama the same way?
