Why do most people hate English dubbed Naruto?

I suppose I dislike the English dubbed because I don't think the voices have much expression, but's it's also probably because I'm used to the Japanese version.

Well, first of all, I hate subtitles even if the voices are already English...I just can't stand subtitles at all. Secondly, I can't get used to the Japanese voices, I don't understand the inflection and I can't enjoy the emotion at all since I don't understand it...also, the comedy doesn't work either. Plus I can't always be looking at the screen, so half the time I'm relying on the voices to tell me what's going on.

Honestly, I think the reason people like subbed is actually an emperor's new clothes thing. It's kinda' like caviar...no one really likes caviar, they just know they have to act like they do...then after a while they even trick themselves into thinking they do. xd

I like the dub,it's what I first starter watching, but after the Japanese version for so long, the English dub sounds slightly wierd. The pronunciation of the names and Japanese terms are all westernized and I don't really ilke it.
And the justu names sound cooler in Japanese.

And the English sounds wierd without the Japanese honorifics.Especially 'sama'.The English dub sounds rude sometimes.
I prefer Hinata saying Naruto-kun and Kakashi saying Jiraiya-sama.

Because whatever show it is, its original language always gives the best sensation.

This is hard to explain, but the movement of their mouths annoy me. Like, how the words they say aren't in synchronization with their lip movement and their lips don't move how they should when certain words are said. With subbed versions I'm too busy reading to notice that :)

I'm actually okay with it.

I like the Shippuden Dub more than the plain old Naruto Dub.

Because it isn't done well, Naruto sounds raspy and says "Believe it!" all the time. A lot of characters just sound weird.

There's very few animes that are dubbed very well. Some even do really annoying things like Azumanga Daioh giving Osaka a southern accent, or the many animes that give fem-ish male chars pure female voices.
A few animes I can recall being dubbed extremely well were Claymore, FLCL and Excel Saga.

....Because she is from Osaka (not really, but you catch my drift) and has a . This is actually translated into either a southern accent or Heavy Brooklyn accent.

Because the Eglish dubbing is not the best of the world.
There re countries which dub GREAT and some that do it poor or dont even do it.
And still, if they do it great, they can make it bad: wrong voices, wrong translation. It can all fade into something else. And thats not the original thing that we like.

I think that is why.

I don't know about everyone else but when I start watching a new series (especially a LONG one like Naruto) I like to watch the English Dub if it's available. If not, I have no problems watching the Subbed version.

In fact, after watching the Subbed version for a while, most of the time I start to prefer the Japanese voices... it's kind of weird lol. Like now, when I go back and watch the English dub after having watched Subbed for so long, some of the voices sound horrible to me (Naruto's voice and a couple others).

So yeah, whenever English Dub is available I will download that. When it's not available, Subbed it is... and I still enjoy it just as much :D I don't get why people have to actually HATE on one or the other... when you go on a site like YouTube, all you get is a bunch of morons whining like little b*tches. Those kinda people need to get smacked :flaw:

When I watch Subbed for a while, it doesn't even FEEL like I am watching subtitles... it just becomes second nature to me... I feel just as though I'm watching an English episode. Does anyone else feel this way?

I enjoy subbed because I feel like when they DUB it you loose some of the emotion and dialogue.
