Why do most people hate English dubbed Naruto?

But most of us started watching Naruto on Cartoon Network, so how could it sound out of place?

I didn't, I watched the japanese version and later tried the dubbed version and thought it was odd.

English voices are horrible it just sounds terrible and when i first started watching the anime with limited resources i couldnt find english dubs so japanese grew on to me

because i prefer a japanese dattebayo! than an annoying believe it!

I agree, the voices just sound crappy to me in english, compare jap voice with english voice.....the character sound more badass in Japanese

It doesn't sound Original. U_U

I don't know about others but I have been accustomed to the japanese voices and the english dubbed just sounds out of place and funny.
All of these ^^^^

I perfer English dub. Dub is more reliable then sub. They slack of sometimes in the Subs.

Plus, Naruto's voice sounds more manlier in the Dub then in Jap. and cause i understand what they are saying xD. Not a sub fan.

I just like the SOUND of the japanese better, but prefer the dubbed because it is bothersome to have to read the subs sometimes.

this^

i have seen american shows/cartoons being dubbed in to my language and it sounds awful.

Why?

because its not original.

if i see one of my fav tv shows of my country being dubbed in english, then without a doubt it would sound weird, why? again because its not original.

thats why.

I personally don't really care but if i had to choose i'd choose dub cause the first few episodes i watched on cartoon network and i sort of grew into it and besides who wants to read something while they watch i mean i can multi task but i just don't like reading while watching something.

I'm actually re-watching all of the original Naruto in Japanese with eng subs for the first time, the first time I watched it in English Dub, I have to say I'm enjoying it A LOT more.

I've been watching anime for 20 years sub and dub. If you don't mid reading sub is fine I prefer dub. The only draw back to dub is alot of times when an anime is dubbed they edit out stuff or slightly change the wording to make it more kid friendly for these reasons sub is better. If I really like the anime I will usually watch both to see if I missed anything

I'm one of the few that prefers the dub over the Japanese tbh. I mean the dub is not bad at all. Few anime are "bad" The only bad dubs i have seen are Bakugan to a point,Beyblade and the Inazuma Eleven dub. I never understood the hate for Believe It since its pretty much an English version of what he says in the Japanese. Idk I just prefer dub anything over dub except maybe like a few series.

The people that hate english voices are either racists or they are accustomed to the japanese voices.

I like both but I can't watch so many subbed episodes in a row because my eyes start to burn from reading. English is more relaxing. But which ones are truly unwatchable are German ones. They sound so horribly bad, the names all get germanized, it makes me sick. I can understand English and speak it just like I can speak and understand German so I could choose. And I prefer English over German a thousand times. Plus the voices are funnier. I watched one German episode on tv, everyone sounded dumb like a brick. Hehe.

Japanese has the coolest voices, it's just tiring to watch after a while.

I personally have watched anime in far to many languages, and my personal top is:

1. Japanese
2. German

I haven't ever in my life enjoyed watching an english dubbed anime, they always ruin it with their way to loud voices in my opinion. but don't missunderstand me, English is my 2nd most used daily language :)

I don't hate it, I just feel that it's out of place.
I mean, voice is an important factor and for me, for example, it's like it's not passing the same feeling when it comes to feelings, sentiments...
But that's just me. :)

Because it isn't done well, Naruto sounds raspy and says "Believe it!" all the time. A lot of characters just sound weird.

There's very few animes that are dubbed very well. Some even do really annoying things like Azumanga Daioh giving Osaka a southern accent, or the many animes that give fem-ish male chars pure female voices.
A few animes I can recall being dubbed extremely well were Claymore, FLCL and Excel Saga.

I prefer dubs. Lol, a lot of Naruto and other manga fans don't watch 26 episode animes. Those are where the English dubs and fight scenes are spec ****ing tacular. Regarding Naruto, I like Tobi's, Kakashi's and Itachi's dub voices. Nothing sounds out of place for me.

I don't understand how anyone could hate the English dubbed voices and prefer the subs with Japanese voices instead and most of them can't even speak Japanese. Is there a reason for this? Is it because they've grown accustomed to the reading the manga and they just enjoy reading Naruto? Honestly, what's the meaning of this?

The english voice the accent of for example names, falls completely wrong, which annoys the crap out of me and naruto doesnt say dattebayo, but stuff like believe it or other stuff.

I also have grown accustomed to the japanese voices, they are the souls of teh characters for me. The english voices feel like totally different characters.
