Fist of the North Star, Jojo's Bizarre Adventure, Berserk, Dragonball Z....the sexualised image of anime men is completely a thing of the past. These mangas are from the 1980s & 90s for godsakes. We're not expected to look like this to an Eastern audience even though that is 'fantasy' in the same exact way all females in anime are expected to be.
Armstrong from FMA & the rest of the muscle-bound stereotypes these days are comic relief, and looked as at eccentric and strange. All shonen heroes are slender, suave-looking young men now. Resembling actual people, being relatable & being treated with respect. WE'VE GOTTEN PAST THIS.
So why not the same for females? Because pulp mainstream anime is for horny little 12 year old boys and it needs to outgrow this bad habit already.

Sorry if it's not what you wanna hear, but it's plain wrong. There's exceptions to the rule (Mei & Tsunade aren't sexualised for the sake of it and it's a part of their character) but in so many cases...it's just not. All the best female leads are rarely sexualised. (Maka Albarn, Rukio, Mikasa, Annie, Winry, Nia, ANY Ghibli creation because they actually
get it)
I can deal with a little bit of titty in my anime, but can we please not try normalise this really weird outdated thing please.
