Why do itachi fanboys feel the need to prove "itachi > all"

I think it was because Itachi has been so misunderstood. He went from my most hated to beloved character in the last 7 years.

I don't like fanboys either. Still, to call someone pathetic for liking a cartoon character? That's uncalled for, and a bit hypocritical. I think all of us who enjoy books, stories, movies and other such things fall a little in love with the characters. How can we enjoy them if we don't. Seriously though, fanboys need to lay off! They tend to increase hate for a perfectly good character (Itachi or anyone else).
