Keep coming back, I love Bleach, I love it more Naruto and almost as much as Dragon ball, love it more than any other manga but Dragon ball that I have read, I can't help it and yet, I detest Kubo, have no respect left for the man, hate what he has done to the manga which feels like a cross between fan fiction and another creators work recently, he killed off my favourite character for no reason, possibly killed off my other favourite characters and done one a serious injury, the story makes no sense, the humour has become low brow, the villains ridiculous, so why?

Are there any other Bleach fans out there who feel this way, who detest Bleach and yet love it like mad, what are the things in Bleach do you think that keep us coming back, for me, I think it is Kubo's ability to create unforgettable characters, what is it for you?

Sorry about the randomness of the thread, I'm bored lol

I have a love/hate relationship with Bleach as well. Right now, I really like it. But when Ichigo went missing on his trip to the Sereitei from the Royal Realm, it was boring as shit. I bet he feels stupid af saying how fast he was. Also, some of the stuff in Bleach is either unoriginal/recycled or doesn't make sense at all (or it does and I'm retarded). But it's an on and off thing, and I really like Bleach, I far prefer it over the likes of Naruto.

I love bleach and I honestly do not hate anything about it except for some serious trolls from kubo >_> but other than that, everything is epic u_u and unlike some people I loved when Ichigo was away for a decent 60-80 chapters tbh, more character development for other characters and I am not a big fan of ichigo >_> but YA man bleach is just ****ing amazing and Juha BACH is one of the best villains I love the dude xD

I feel similar.

I really hate how this war turned on. In the beginning my thoughts were that War arc will surpass SS arc (for me best arc in Bleach) and will be even more enjoyable than Arrancar arc (my favorite arc) but Kubo IMO messed it.

Sternritters while having strength to rival Shinigami strength (at least at the beginning) and having awesome design, turned to be pretty lame characters. Some of the Sternritters didn't even got their line in the series. Sternritters were outnumbered by shinigamis but still they were going around and fighting each other. Bazz-B, Cang Du and As Nodt are just some of the examples of characters with damn good design even among Quincies who turned to be lame characters and got pretty pitty death.

This whole war in the end feel much more like a seinen than shounen. Before war arc Bleach was my favorite manga, if it was any other manga I would probably drop it by now. But informations we got from Jump, interviews and omakes over the years is that whole manga was supposed to look this way.

Jump had a huge influence on Kubo's work (actually Jump always had huge influence in mangakas works, that's why Vegeta was left alive after Frieza's saga or why Gohan didn't beat Buu on his own in Final fight). When it comes to respect, I have it even more for Kubo now, he is one of the rare who, at least in this arc, don't allow Jump to mess with his work and do things on his own this time. I don't like things he's doing this time, but I respect him for doing things this time.

Yea but they were right about Dragon Ball, if Vegeta had died then no Trunks, no Cell saga, if Gohan had beaten Buu instead of Goku and Vegeta and as Gohan was actually a pretty lame character when he hit 16 and Goku was the hero, it would have sucked lemons.

And they are right with this, Kubo is ruining Bleach, if he wanted to do a sienen then he should have, it is called Shonen jump for a reason, I respect a creator ignoring the editors but not the fan base

Dragon Ball was supposed to end after Frieza saga (i think) and for me Frieza saga was prime of the series.

I think Gohan was slightly older in Buu saga, around 18, and I found it more logical for 18 old kid to be stronger than guy in 40s. Also Gohan was hinted as hybrid to be stronger than pure Saiyans, it's more logical for me to be stronger than Goku and beat final villain. Goten's purpose in the story was to replace Goku, since he was supposed to be dead.

In both cases at least when it comes to my personal opinion I would say that it would be better in Akira's way.

1. Ending after Frieza saga.

or

2. Killing Vegeta. Because with Vegeta and Trunks other characters I grow with, were literally written off just for the purpose of Saiyan development.

Jump would never accept Bleach in their magazine if it wasn't for Toriyama. When Kubo sent them pilot chapter, they rejected it, Toriyama was the one who send Kubo and to Jump letter that series actually has a lot of potential and that should be published in jump.

Well, I agree that you shouldn't ignore fan base, but I think Kubo is now happier than ever, since he is doing something he always wanted.

I think ending Dragon Ball at the Frieza saga would have been a tragedy but that is personal opinion. Gohan was 16 and Goku was actually only about 30 due to the many years he spent dead and also was a pure blooded Sayian, Gohan never had the it factor of a hero, he got on my nerves after he hit puberty, he was like a male Orihime.

Also, death and killing are not Toriyama's style, he has a kiddy style for a man very much young at heart.

Trunks was on of the most popular Manga characters in Japan ever, apparently.

Trouble is, the fans are not happy and that is no way to repay people who pay your bills. I understand that Kubo wants to do a more mature manga but he should have ended Bleach and moved on or waited until Bleach ended, instead he has lost a tone of respect, fans and will likely have trouble ever being hired again, he even lost the anime, it was a foolish move
