Because God made us in his image. We Exist to enjoy what God has created around us "Life", Humans are the center piece.

Our world was changed long ago with the Greedy and Dark hearted people, God is looking down in disgust, we just have to stay strong until our time comes then the "Good" people will truly prosper up above.

How is my answer selfish? Let me ask you this

Why is it Humans are constantly evolving? Why is it Humans are the top of the food chain? Why is there a Sun? A Moon?
Why aren't Lions and Bears thinking about what the latest cell phone is? Why don't animals have Actors and Movies? Why can humans read and wright? Why do Humans Plant trees and trees don't plant us? Why can humans paint and animals cant? We have a Sun so we can see the beautiful Creatures and Colors that God wanted us to see, We have a Moon to remind us we have a Sun.
Now how is my answer selfish?

we can do all those things, so we can see the bonds of this existence, and unlike some creatures we have the ability to interpret these bonds and IMO we should be choosing to protect those bonds but instead we mostly destroy them.
