Why didnt Tobirama stop Edo-Tensei?

I don't think Tobirama knew how; when he invented it, he immediately labeled it as a forbidden jutsu. So he never had time to master it or formulate a way to counter or release yourself from it.

Madara it seems had all the time to examine the jutsu in order to release himself from it, incase someone were ever try revive him. Maybe he predicted someone would so he created some kind of "insurance" for himself to always be in control of himself.

Because that's not how stories work. If things like that happened, itachi would activate susano'o and stab stab stab with totsuka until they are sealed, and naruto would run so fast that nobody could dodge, and madara would just use 50 more meteorites. Some things, while practical, do not look cool or bring out emotion from a story. What would you say if harry from harry potter just brought a gun to kill voldemort?

Tobirama could not control anything, Madara could do whatever he wanted because at the moment he released it he had 100% control, just like Dan had it and used his spirit technique (whatever its called) but Madara decided to release himself, smart move haha

As u can see the edos before the jutsu being released got control of their bodies, and madara freed himself from the jutsu.

In tobirama case he was being fully controled, when he finally got control of himself his soul was being being sealed by hiruzen's clone..

So... He didnt have time to release himself.. Or he didnt know about this risk.

He probably realised the risks that's why it was a forbidden jutsu. Most jutsus listed as forbidden are the ones who potentially backfire on the user of that tech.

It was a matter of moral stuff and it was also dangerous -> this jutsu played a major role in the war.

Well, Kunai is needed to complete the edo-tensei Jutsu and bind them and make them obey..
After the insertion of that Kunai, the Jutsu became complete and Oro used them as puppets.. And that way Tobirama was under full control of Orochimaru..
While Kabuto fell in the Loop and let Madara act freely..:shrug:

Edo-zombies have limited free will (Kabuto's Edo Zombies) or sometimes no free will at all (Oro's Edo-zombies) under normal circumstances. But, when Edo Tensei is released, Edo-zombies will get a couple of seconds of complete free will until their spirits are eventually forced to leave the impure world and go back to the pure world.

1. Tobirama's personality was completely erased by Oro's Talisman. So he had no control of himself at all. (except maybe while he was being sealed)

2. Orochimaru's Edo Tensei was never released. So Tobirama never had those couple of seconds of complete free will to do what Madara did.

3. Tobirama might have had a small window of free will while he was being sealed by Hiruzen. But it was already to late for him at that point as there is no known escape from the Shinigami.

4. Madara and Dan made use of that "small window" they got. Dan visited Tsunade and Madara released Edo Tensei's Summoning contract.
