Why didn't the Uchiha use genjutsu against the Senju ?

Why didn't the Uchiha use genjutsu against the Senju? Moreover why didn't Madara use genjutsu against Hashirama? The Uchiha were quite badass at genjutsu,a senju would have no way to break out unless they got external help .Also no one was willing to interrupt Madara vs Hashirama,then why didn't Madara use a strong genjutsu like Itachi's Tsukiyomi and solo Hashirama?

i dont think that a genius like a GOD of Shinobi can be stopped by genjutsu !! And they probably didnt show the full fight .. just the interesting part !

The senju probably knew that they shouldn't look at an uchiha in the eyes and madara really wasn't a genjutsu kind of fighter like itachi was.

Perhaps the senju didnt look Uchiha in the eyes when fighting. I'd expect knowledge of their genjutsu probably passed down after generations of fighting. Gai was able to fight without looking itachi in the eyes im sure kage's like tobirama and hashirama could also do it. Also they have incredible chakra control. They might just be able to break out of it fairly easily.

When you fight uchiha for a living, It's not actually hard to avoid ocular genjutsu. Gai did it so most of the senju most likely did also.

But didn't Itachi say he could cast a genjutsu by just raising a finger and without looking into the eyes? There must be many genjutsu users who don't have ocular jutsu?

I could think of 3 reasons;
- Chakra; Think of the training of Naruto with Jiraiya, you could lower and increase your chakra to get out of the genjutsu. Senjus obviously have great amounts of chakra, so highrank genjutsu is needed (probably only with the sharingan).
- Training the eye; This was shown in the fight between Sasuke and Deidara. He trained his left eye to see through genjutsu, ever since he fought Itachi. So this proves you can train to withstand genjutsu.
- Taijutsu; Just like Gai trained to fight the sharingan, by not looking at the eyes but the body. Shown in the fight against Itachi and Kisame outside Konoha.
