why the hell didn't the akatsuki just shitstomp on all the village one at a time.

Pain would just suprise attack Shinra tensie the stuffing out of the village, leaving a few survivors leaving the remaining akatsuki members to jump out and kill the survivors.

they then would leave, assault the next village and so on so forth, with the five villages gone, they could gather the neighboring villages since they were the strongest and rules as lords and lady(singular Konan is the only female akatsuki) of the land.

But it would also give away too much of their identity, because its easier to go covert, quickly grab the Jinchuriki and get out before anyone notices (Similar to what Deidara did to Gaara)

This way they would litterally destroy an entire village in moments, Deidara's C4 with shinra tensie in a suprise attack leaves nothing left. They would be in and out in seconds
