It would still be the same result, Obito's black Jinton-like attacks will still break thru it. I guess he knew this wanted to avoid using more chakra when it wouldn't have changed anything.

I guess the rush from Obito was to fast for Sasuke to actually build up the chakra use amaterasu and then shield himself with it. Sasuke was able to defend against the Raikage but by just guessing Obito is much faster and went directly for him while A went behind him to launch his attack which created an opening for Sasuke. It would have likely been useless anyway as Obito has currently been hit with black flames but doesn't seem to care.
