Why didn't Sasuke awaken the rinnegan in both eyes?

Simply because of design, and because Kishi probably liked his EMS, and didn't want to lose it.

He had all the basic requirements fulfiiled so why did he get the rinnegan in one eye only? Shouldn't he have gotten rinnegan in both eyes ? Could that somehow be the reason he hasn't been shown to use all the paths?

His Rinnegan already acts as a pair. It already has 6 Tomoes within that Rinnegan, the same amount found in 2 Sharingan.

Only explaination is that sasuke's rinnegan is unique from madara's how it took his whole life to awake where sasuke awakened in a second thanks to hagoramo.
