It's what we writers would call a plot device. something to move the story along.
in which it was headed to the conclusion that Karin was the mother and Sasuke had to answer for it.

And the photo of your "husband" that you have is the one when he was evil, which is now trying to repent for and most likely trying to forget. but yeah...

that family is so dysfunctional and IDK why people are even so happy about that relationship. completely forced and no background info to suggest that they were even close to having a relationship.

So yeah Sakura is irrelevant when it comes to the glasses because the entire relationship was as out of nowhere as Sarada needing glasses.
