Why didn't Orochimaru just Praise Jashin?

We all know that Orochimaru was in the Akatsuki with Hidan, and Orochimaru knew that Hidan was Immortal.

So my question is why wasn't Orochimaru interested in Jashin? Hidan and Jashin had exactly what he wanted!

Well the Jashin thing wasn't really explored, Maybe it doesn't stop the aging process (unless i missed something) and such and has limits when against jutsu's like Jinton that completely destroy the body

Well Hidans immortality isn't based on his independence but instead religious components, he has to make religious sacrifices (rituals if you will) in order to live forever. Lord Orochimaru is a man/woman of science not religion so I'd say it would be out of character for him to omit that form of immortality.

But who knows Orochimaru might be immortal already..
