Why didn't obito use his kamui the same way as kakashi?

Obito and kakashi are both able to use the kamui in the same exact way.

at first it seemed that obitos eye was only able to transport himself and anyone he was in contact with. Making it imperative for him to touch someone in combat in order to transport them to the other dimension. (as we see when he fights minato, saves sasuke, tries to make physical contact with naruto/konan and anyone else he wished to teleport with.

But as we see on chapter 595, pages 12-13, he can obviously use it outside of his body, when he cancels out kakashi's attempt to kamui the head of the gedo statue.

Kakashi is also able to use obito's way of using kamui, as seen when kakashi teleports himself back to the real world from the kamui dimension.

So since obito was able to do the same thing kakashi was, the question at hand is: Why didn't he use this tech in the first place?

He could have captured anyone he wanted. he could have captured all the the jinchurikis by himself with no help. find them, kamui their whole body into the dimension. wear them out in that dimension by starvation or fighting or w/e, then extract. do them one by one if he had to.

Instead he goes through a ridiculous amount of effort to get them. So unecessary.

Different eyes.
Even Kotoamatsukami is different in both eyes. One (Itachi's) can only use 1 definite command "Protect Konoha" was only 1 command.
(Danzo's) allowed him to enter Mifune's mind and control him like Mind Transfer sort of. What could the command Danzo gave Mifune ? Mifune took multiple actions while under KA influence. He not only said that Danzo should be the Leader , but he also critiqued each village and its leaders and actions. Those were multiple different actions from while under KA influence. For Mifune to say all he said and did while under KA that would've taken multiple commands if it was shot once like (Itachi's) KA , but maybe Danzo actually didn't cast it and watch.... maybe he cast it and controlled then released him so he while AO discovered what was happening.

Kakashi is also able to use obito's way of using kamui, as seen when kakashi teleports himself back to the real world from the kamui dimension.

No Kakashi doesn't. Kakashi has never phased or teleported himself into Kamui. He only teleported out .
Its different to teleport inside a dimension than to teleport out of one.

I look at it like Sasuke's Amateratsu & Enton. Sasuke can cast Amateratsu with L EYE , but deplete & morph it with R EYE.
Obito can R EYE take Kakashi to Kamui , but Kakashi can L EYE cancel it.

i see what you are saying but thats a forceful way to think about it. naturally, it makes sense that both of them can do the same thing. especially when you see obito use kamui with range to cancel kakashi's kamui. kakashi was able to transport his body out of kamui. he did it the same exact way obito did.

maybe kakashi is unable to do the phase technique as well as obito but thats it. he just needed to gradually increase his skill in kamui to be able to do it other ways. especially after seeing what actually happens to the victim of kamui first hand by obito. so maybe he just was being safe not to kamui himself because of the unknown.

now that he knows, he can safely do it in and out. His kamui transports people by range to the dimension, he obviously transported himself out using kamui. instead of focusing it outward, he focuses himself as the target.
