Kishi had to keep Nagato handicapped because if he wasn't then Naruto and company would have stood no chance at all, I found it quite vexing how Nagato was able to heal himself while already dead, it's simply because Kishi made Nagato too powerful and being handicapped basically brought him to mortal status

I agree with this if he was healthy walking around he would of captured all the beasts by himself... baring in mind he destroyed konoha and captured the kyubbi with dead bodies these are both the strongest village and the strongest tailed beast

As seen in the manga nagato could absorb chakra and restore to himself youth so why didnt he do it as pain or when he might of been given an opportunity when he was alive? Whats the point of livin lookn like your 70

Probably for the same reason he didn't simply kill naruto when he invaded the hidden leaf and revive him later like kabuto would have had him do. Just never thought about it.
