She has better chakra control than tsunAde, and mentally activates her seal. She can really surpass tsunade because both of them mastered chakra control. For her to truly surpassed her master she needs to master the birthright genjutsu

And you're forgetting that reason she avoided getting sealed in 682 is because of the ice getting in the way. Kaguya, Naruto, and Sasuke were still in the same positions.

I would have made them both the heroines and done this:

Have an arc that explores the connection between the Hyuuga and Uchiha, with Hinata and Sasuke as the stars where they develop a kinship due to their sibling issues. Hinata gets a power up by unlocking a Hyuuga equalvient of Susanoo through combining Sasuke's Uchiha genes with her's, similar to the original concept of Izangai. Her Susanoo would be in the shape of a lion similar to Naruto's kyuubi avatar. Symbolizing the aspect she shares with Naruto and Sasuke.

This would give her underdog story some closure and satisfy her fans.

-Sakura

Have her develop the Yin Seal over the time-skip instead of being an asspull in the war. Then have an arc focusing on Sakura training with Lee on how to use the gates. With Sakura using the seal's regenerative ability to overcome the damaging drawbacks. Proving Rock Lee's point about hardwork. I would have Sakura end up with Lee as they both represent human weakness.

Rock Lee is a popular character so the readers would be interested in the arc and this would develop him as well. It would also boost Sakura's popularity and give her some self-respect in the end unlike the canon story.

But instead Kishi made Sakura fail at achieving goal to catch up to them.
