Why Didn't Kakashi Retreat after their first Encounter with Zabuza?

No way in hell they were ready for Zabuza and Haku, they should have realistically called for backup by either Konoha or The Mist Village. Mighty Guy and His team could have come to help

Kakashi was injured in his fight. Also if he contacted Konoha, than Konoha would have forced the village to pay for an A rank mission which they could not afford.

He had to fight back to protect him or retreat. If they had retreat Zabuza would of followed them and I believe he's good at tracking enemies. Call backup Zabuza wouldn't allow that to happen and call backup with what lol
