Why didn't Jiraiya use Sage mode against Orochimaru?

I was just watching some AMV's out of boredom and I came across the battle between Oro and Jiraiya & Tsunade. I'm not saying it was an epic battle or anything but I noticed that Jiraiya was the third wheel on the wagon.

When Jiraiya saw Tsunade releasing her seal and saw her go all out on Oro why didn't he go Sage mode. If that would have been the case a whole lot of other shit could have been prevented by killing Orochimaru back then.

Do you think this is a flaw in the series or that Jiraiya thought Tsunade could handle it on her own or whatever?

remember tsunade did something with his chakra so his wouldn't work for a while and when it did he wouldn't have the time to do that

Also jiraya is not so talented at balancing sage chakra in his body as naruto is so he didnt bother.

Does chakra has anything to do with sage mode? I thought sage mode did not require chakra but the build up of natural energy.

Anyways i thought he didn't want to show his superiority other than the fact that kishi mostly didn't thought about sage mode in those days.

Also realisticly kishi did not want to reveal everyones powers right away in the first battles. So him being effected by tsunade drug was his way of a writer in doing so, oro was affected by hiruzen, tsunade was affected by lost love ones. Nice one kishi.
