Why didn't Jiraiya teach Nagato the Rasengan?

No. Nagato was trained during/after the Second Shinobi World War. Minato was trained subsequent to Jiraiya training Nagato and the Ame Orphans. Nagato was in his adult-hood during the Third Shinobi World War, probably around Minato's age or older. Kakashi was a young child at that time.

One, the rasengan didn't exist at that time. And two, Jiraiya's only taught them basics so they could defend themselves.

Wait, that reminds me...in an anime episode, Jiraiya was sparring with them and hit Yahiko with a weak rasengan. The rasengan shouldn't have exisisted then... Does anyone remember this?

Nope Jiraya trained them during 3rd shinobi world war which continued for a long time ,Minato also trained during that time and he is the trump card of Konoha during the final day's of war and he is the one who single handedly lead Konoha towords the victory,Nagato is probably 1-3 years older than Minato considering the fact that Jiraya's genin team formed when Minato is 10 and Jiraya left Nagato when he is 10......

Dude, Jitaiya trained Nagato, Yahiko and Konan at the time of the Second Ninja World War, the same war that the Sannin fought Hanzo.

The Third Ninja World War is where Yahiko was killed, Obito's "death" and other stuff.

Beccause by the time j-man trained nagato, minato was only 10-11ish at the time and he did not create the rasengan at that age as kushina did not have the beast sealed in her
