He knew he was gonna get hit by the trap shurikens when he saw the wire, so why didnt he use ribcage susanoo to protect himself?

I think so too... and if it wasn't it wouldn't matter because Itachi wanted to show his Susano'o as a Trump Card... that way he can unconventionally show Sasuke that he had the advantage from the very beginning...

that is also why Itachi used a weak tsukuyomi without dreamscape control.
