There'd be no Naruto manga then, Minato and Itachi set up the whole plot. (Well Kishi did ofc, you know what I mean.)
I dislike him as well. He deserved to be tortured.
Even still, Hiruzen would probably just give him a pat on the back, and the two elders would still side with Danzo, preaching how it's for the village BS.

Hiruzen and the elders knew that someone was about to murder all of the Uchiha, why would they care if Danzo takes out one by himself?

Don't worry I greatly dislike Danzo too. I just believe we shouldn't bash the hate since there are people that might get offended

Because regardless is he told horizon or not itd still end in disaster the point being that itachi was thinking of the village aswell, like really you think hiruzen didn't know what kind of douche danzo was? Itachi did not want to insinué a fourth great ninja war. And if he told hiruzen he might have felt the need to comfront him and then what danzo gets nerfed stomped by lord hiruzen and then hiruzen becomes undercover akatski, damn I'd love that actually
pretty much this they always tolerated danzo and never questioned him at time of sound / wind invasion or pain invasion and yet despite his actions he is pretty much a saint in their eyes. don't know why but felt leaf village has the most corrupt government compared to all other villages.
