Why didn't Itachi kill Orochimaru?

He had his chance when Orochimaru betrayed Akatsuki by going after a member.

So when Itachi replied back with genjutsu why didn't he finish the job there.Because after that Orochimaru got on Akatsuki's assassination list.

Also that's what turned Orochimaru's attention to Sasuke.Was Itachi aware of that?Why would you let that guy live if it doesn't fill Itachi's desires...Or he planned for Orochimaru to train Sasuke and then get killed by his student?

I kinda feel Itachi in part 1 had updates on the situation of the village and ofcourse Sasuke.So he might have let Orochimaru leave for this purpose.

I wouldn't put it past Itachi. Although I don't remember any indications of this in the manga. If this was truly the case, it puts him closer to Aizen level (not that he was far off in the first place).

But, if this was truly the case, then I question his "tough love" treatment of Sasuke more. However Sasuke behaved should be in part attributed to Itachi's actions. This is the only thing that I don't like about Itachi. He may have pushed Sasuke too far, to the point of no return.

I don't think Orochimaru was still working with Danzo in Akatsuki

They weren't directly but Oro was still an asset because him and Danzo both wanted to stop Akatsuki.
