Why didn't itachi kill oro

Why didn't itachi kill orochimaru back when he first joined akatsuki, I mean that was a golden oppertunity for him to do so and he could've saved everyone from so much trouble due to orochimaru. What do you guys think and don't just say "Plot no jutsu" I want to hear some opinions!

first of all, it would have blown his cover. secondly, defeating orochimaru would not be as straightforward as his genjutsu win would have you think, orochimaru can easily regenerate such trivial wounds. itachi was stronger true, but orochimaru would still give him a hard fight, then there's the other akatsuki who might choose to get involved as well.

itachi had no reason to kill oro at that time and since oro was not strong enough to kill him he choose to let him live ( and for those who say oro is stronger etc.... remember oro wanted the sharingan and went after sasuke cuz he could not take them from itachi because he was not strong enough

Oro joined akatsuki to take Itachi body, since he wasn't able to do it without a real fight hwich he might not have win he just leaved.

Itachi don't really care about orochimaru
