Not really killing Danzo plays a major plot in weakening Hiruzen. You assume Konoha then sides with the Hokage when the Uchiha take him in the coup. And Konoha risks civil war and effectively opens itself up to external attack. I for one don't see any of the major clans siding with Hiruzen when the truth comes out at that time cooler heads prevail.

Yeah sure fam konoha is gonna side with the clan over their leader. Good joke. And what truth? That an uchiha caused the 9 tails attack? U make it seem as if the uchiha wont be swiftly killed. its 1 clan Vs like 8, with the addition of Anbu black ops, and Anbu root. Lol it will be quicker than oros defeat back in part 1.

In life, you sometimes do stuff strategically. Obviously he'd suffer some repercussions if he were to try and kill him on site, if HE COULD, that is.

I don't think so. Itachi would just scare anyone who try to attack Sasuke with more death,

Itachi sided with the leaf because he was a pacifist. He even said "is this a threat"? To danzo clearly enunciating the fact danzo was scared of him.

Itachi had an innate hunger to kill and destroy his clan because they limited him due to the responsibility bestowed upon him by their generally incompetent asses or he just didn't care enough about any of them and didn't mind killing them, this last part is probably more true than the first explanation. He probably saw them as a burden that tired him constantly. Itachi is also a psycopath, this means that he didn't see an issue with taking a human life so long as it "made sense" though, he only became attached to sasuke because sasuke was the pure-hearted innocence that carried the Uchiha blood, which is important to itachi's identity. Sasuke was the opposite of itachi, that's why itachi loved him. Sasuke was everything itachi wanted to be, and that is why he loved sasuke and asked for him to be spared. Almost as though itachi was asking for the tiny shred of innocence within himself to be spared as well.

how danzo feels about itachi doesn't change the end result for the uchiha
