Nagato was put under full control ( just like hashirama and tobirama had their conscious taken away first time around Oro called them). Itachi broke free because of the Shisui eye he stored with Naruto. Nagato didn't have such a chanced back up.

Itachi was more of a strategic fighter than a stamina power house to fight Nagato head on one on one. He would have had more problems without Naruto and Killer B.

his thread is about their edo counterparts. anyway the fact he did all the correct requirements to neg each of his paths is confident enough that he would be better on his own with 2 of his shadow clones to accomplish the same feats where it took jiraiya several chapters to just to figure it out. honestly, I can't see that kabuto controlled nagato defeating itachi without CT.

Actually, that is false. I believe Madara stated somewhere that Edo Tensei does not allow one to use their power to the fullest extent. That is why when he became human, he was able to defeat Tobirama and Hashirama. He stated that there were differences in their skill sets.

Jiraiya didn't know about adult Nagato and at first thought Yahiko had stolen his eyes and of course he was at a disadvantage as he infiltrated Nagato's own Tower. 'Was caught by surprise at least partially and had no idea what he had walked in.

Why would you even compare the two situations? But whatever...

lmao madara =/= nagato and below edos. i'm sure madara's being a transmigrant had something to do with his restrictions considering the ridiculous gap of the power between his edo and living form. I doubt abilities had anything to do with it considering nagato used all the relevant ones.

and with all that you just said, and you still think itachi would be a worst situation? CT= chibaku tensei

not saying whether or not he would win against nagato, i'm simply saying he would still accomplish the same feats he did without them out of side of blowing up the CT. he has the abilties to do it. if preta got a hold of his susanoo, itachi could easily step out, use crow feint to distract(bypass DSM kabuto senses), can use shadow clones to keep up the pace, has amat and the speed and reaction timing to accomplish all of these successfully. that scene where he saved B and naruto, that would not be possible for anyone slower simply because nagato would react to his sensory. that's all i'm saying, later.
