Remember when Naruto was getting his soul pulled out by Nagato. Why didn't Itachi just solo Nagato where he stood instead of babysit two perfect jins. Is Itachi really that determined to share wisdom with his enemies and allies that he holds back his solo power?

Correction: he was able to solo Nagato only because the former was under the control of Kabuto.
Anyways Kishimoto probably prefered Nagato to manhandle Naruto and Killer Bee before being sealing away rather than being sealed away immediately like a fodder.

Is it that hard to understand that Nagato in control > Someone else? How he fought that fight was a mess - one of his abilities got shit on by shurikens. Nagato knows his own powers and how to use them better than anyone else. It's as simple as that. If he was free from control Naruto and Bee would be dead. That would leave Itachi - and that's a fight he would eventually win.

So let me get this straight. the hyped up rinnegan with 6 mighty powerful paths loses because someone else was in control over it? despite that said person used it quite well? lol then perhaps the rinnegan isn't as OP as they claim it to be. no wait, that's right he had a watered down version due to it not being the original owner and transmigrant. you keep saying he made dumb mistakes with his paths, and i'm telling you he always made dumb mistakes even when he controlled his pains he failed several time. there is nothing in that fight that nagato wouldn't had made himself. you're not going to tell me some guy who got outsmarted by konohamaru is going to make better judgements against 3 jinks and a skilled uchiha.
lol would've made no difference with itachi and 2 of his shadow clones.
the only question is whether he can take out CT on his own.

Kishi nerfed Nagato because he was too OP to use in the war. Why even bring him back if he was just going to be immediately negged? Kishi logic for reals.

Nagato wasn't in control of his own body so that worked in Itachi's favor. Aside from Kabuto focusing on Naruto and Bee. Instead of breaking Asura's arm, ge could've stabbed him with Totsuka.
Itachi in control of his own body > an Itachi Kabuto controls since the way they use their power is different.

Nagato was put under full control ( just like hashirama and tobirama had their conscious taken away first time around Oro called them). Itachi broke free because of the Shisui eye he stored with Naruto. Nagato didn't have such a chanced back up.
Itachi was more of a strategic fighter than a stamina power house to fight Nagato head on one on one. He would have had more problems without Naruto and Killer B.
