Why didn't Itachi just kill Danzo?

For all of you guys out there calling Itachi the Soloking, why didn't he just kill Danzo with Totsuka Blade? Seriously, you can't say he had no reason to. Danzo stole Shisui's eye, Itachi was Shisui's best friend. And if Itachi was worried about Danzo touching Sasuke, just kill Danzo.

Exactly, also, he could just show Hiruzen his wisdom, will of fire, and show how "powerful" people claim him to be. Then he could ask to be Hokage in order to keep the Uchiha calm, since they would love to have the leader of the village be one of them. And if that doesn't work, he could take the eye Danzo stole from Shisui and use it on Hiruzen.

He only killed when it was necessary. It's not difficult to understand.

Killing Danzo, then using KA on Hiruzen is so much of a better approach then killing a whole clan, it's not that difficult to understand.

He didn't kill the clan because he wanted to kill them. He killed them because doing so would save the Uchiha's reputation, many people's lives (Sasuke's included), and Konoha itself. Killing Danzo would have been selfish.

Killing Danzo goes against his pacifist nature. The Uchiha aren't going to accept a kid as Hokage, no matter who he is. They would have picked Fugaku, and the village would be against it. War was unavoidable. Also KA wasn't usable at the time.

1. Loyal to Konoha and Danzo is an official of Konoha so killing Danzo would mean going against the village.

2. Afraid of Izanagi and KA

OP's acting as if being a douche justifies murdering the second most influential person in the hierarchy of the village, not to mention Itachi's own military higher-up and one of the best friends of the current Hokage... :|

Itachi is loyal and won't kill a konoha shinobi outside of a mission, well IMO that is. He never was a criminal, it was an act.
