Why didn't Hagoromo tell them how to dispel IT BEFORE confronting Madara?

Everyone would have been freed like right after it was cast. It doesn't make sense to tell them after the Kaguya fight. It's not like he expected to return in the world of the living.

Hagoromo was giving his 'sons' one more chance to cooperate. He said that he had put too much faith in them before and they ended up turning chakra into weapons. The battle with Kaguya was their test, and if they failed, then he felt that Kaguya's way would have been the better one after all.
