Why didn't BZ help Obito?

Because BZ needed IT to be cast from within the Juubi Jin's body.

What I mean by that is that the Shinju needed to be absorbed since Kaguya was within it.

Obito was about to cast IT through the Shinju but since it wasn't within him, BZ wouldn't be able to make Kaguya emerge.

Then again, it's not like BZ worked against him either. I guess it's possible that he was just waiting for anyone of them to cast IT. Obito failed though so he chose to control his body and wait to see if Madara would be able to. Madara succeeded and boom, BZ disposed of him to bring Kaguya back.

Although it's most likely the first option. Kaguya was in the Shinju and Obito ejected it. Madara took it back in so Kaguya was now within Madara apparently waiting to emerge. Or perhaps a host wasn't really necessary. Perhaps BZ would've transformed the Shinju back into Kaguya after IT is cast. These are my two options but I'll side more with the first.

Since when could Madara not handle Kaguya's chakra?

Since he imploded and turned into a women.

OT: i think Black Zetsu was fine with who ever casted IT, Madara or Obito, it was only after Obito got TNJ'ed by Naruto that Black Zetsu had to intervene.

Edit: Scrayed explained it a lot better i guess.

Simply for plot reasons...no one can give you a real answer.

though keep in mind that the only reason Madara absorbed the Shinjuu in the first place was because it was cut down by Naruto...Bz couldn't have planned this.
