Why didn't anyone ever in the story do this?

We all knowing how dojutsu kkg works, wouldn't it be quite easy beating them? All a person would need to do is get some dirt or salt and throw it into their eyes. So why wasn't this ever implemented by any of the shinobi in battle with someone like say Madara even if it only stop them for a while?
