That I do not understand, doesn't Sasuke know that Sarada ever gains MS, she got permanetly blind if she has no brother or sister to implant eyes? If Sasuke has 2 kids then if both gets MS, then both can gain EMS by implanting each other eyes.
Then again Sasuke eyes are free since Sasuke is using Itachi eyes, maybe if Sarada gains MS, Sasuke will give his old blind eyes which would turn EMS maybe.
In the grande scheme of things, the EMS (or lack there of) wasn't so much the key issue for me.
You'd think in their society, their predominantly shinobi culture - that having ONE kid was unsual/rare unless a spouse had died and even then you'd think they would be encouraged to remarry and spawn more brats.
Why?
Eh,
being shinobi would dictate that kids - shinonbi kids - would have a short lifespan. As seen during the Warring Clans Era and specifically Madara's siblings.
Oh but you might think that with the formation of Ninja Villages that kids didn't drop like flies, as they once did. And maybe, you have a point.
But overall, I think it added a couple of years - say 5 or so to those kids during wartime. Instead of being tossed out at 5/6 years old, they got a small reprieve until they were 10, though in some cases that still didn't apply (Kakashi, Itachi etc).
Given that prior to the series started they'd had THREE major wars... well, it's safe to assume kids became fodder. Danzo was dishing out shinobi-kid-fodder right up until his death in the tree-hungin' pansy ass village of Konoha, think what Kiri did with their kids.
... yup.
My point?
Having one kid, even two is f*cking retarded and unrealistic. These shinobi would/should have been keeping a spawn rate on par with Lemmings.

with Blood Limits - a genetic bloody legacy - would surely be keen to employ methods of ensuring it's contiuation.

F*cking Kishi. This whole issue is a pet peeve for me. Some have excuses; Kushina/Minato (dead), but the rest? Nope.
Though in Sasuke's case it's explained a little easier. So here's the basic reasons why he has only one daughter;
- He spends almost ZERO time in the village with his wife
- Perhaps he doesn't WANT kids, why carry on a legacy that was described as "Evil" by the Nandaime Hokage? A legacy that is one that genetically predisposes someone to instanity and mass genocide.
- His wife is Sakura. Her genetic contribution to Sarada resulted in FAIL
- Chronic fear of producing a son with PINK HAIR.
- Reluctance to f*ck Sakura Haruno - which is only natural.
- No siblings = Fratricide issue SOLVED.
