The Uchiha are a Noble Clan so they have a clan symbol. While "Haruno" would be the lesser or a recognized civilian family with a crest.

Haruno is as much part of the Uchiha

That crest signifies Zero (0), zero in everything in other words fodder. She tried to hide her fodder origins with the uchiha symbol and ended up making the symbol itself fodder causing Sasuke to stop wearing it.
