In Hyuga affair Raikage´s shinobi leader tried to kidnap Hinata in order to gain Byakugan. But for what purpose ? Did Raikage plan to use it for himself.

The Byakugan saved a Kage Summit. It's a hereditary trait Konoha proudly shielded. Why wouldn't you want it?

I think he was more interested in having a Hyuga than a Byakugan. Multiple users with the genetic coding for it is better than some random person having an eye.

Because he knew about Otsutsuki and wanted to recreate their power like Orochimaru. Possessing sage tools and the closest version to Uzumaki jinchuuriki seal hints at what the Cloud's true intentions were.

He knew about the Sage of 6 Paths, attempted perfecting the jinchuuriki seal, possessed the tools of the Sage and was interested in Hyuga power. Everything points to the Cloud village knowing about Otsutsuki and wanting their power like Orochimaru
