Why Did Orochimaru Wait So Long?

Still, Orochimaru was able to invade the Leaf once because he had spies everywhere and a lot of resources. I'm guessing it would have been easy for Oro to send someone, like Kabuto, to do it for him, even if the Konoha was in a good condition.

what your forgetting is we dont know if there was any necersary requirements apart from what we already know... also i dont think that many people would be willing to kill theselves and these people would be more use to oro alive since there is a reason they were kept around..

also the mask's wasnt in konoha they were just passing by konoha i believe

If the masks weren't in Konoha then it would have been easy to get to them, no? And I think there was at least someone willing to sacrifice themselves for Oro, seeing as he brainwashed so many people.

ye but like i said its possibly he was limited to knowing its location.. also it seems he was being watched a lot by the akatsuki and konoha

and getting attacked my sasuke didnt help much and he was sealed straight after that so his only problem was time and doing it without attracting attention i dont think people wanted oro getting his arms back tbh lol

I'm sorry if there are already threads made about this, but I've been thinking - why did Orochimaru not undo the Dead Demon Seal earlier?

My point is, we all know that Orochimaru searched the scrolls and documents of different clans, and that is how he found out about undoing the Shiki Fujin. Now he said he did this after losing his arms. But he couldn't have done it after Sasuke had "killed" him, since after that he was either in Anko or in Sasuke. Which means he knew about it before his "death".

So why did he not undo the seal then? If he had, he would have gotten his jutsu back, and the hokage in his arsenal, and he then could have easily taken over Sasuke's body. It's not like he knew he would be conveniently revived by Sasuke later?

Or did he? By know we all know not to trust the villains in this manga; that they are always hiding something. Could it be possible that it was all part of Orochimaru's plan? I mean think about it - and many have already said this before - but how convenient is it that Sasuke had six Zetsu on him: four for the Hokages, one for Orochimaru, and one for Sasuke to aquire Hashirama's DNA. And that they are in the Naka Shrine, where Sasuke can conveniently read the tablet and know how to get the Rinnegan, with a pool of Hashi's DNA sitting right next to him? And how easy is it now for Orochimaru to take over his body and aquire the Rinnegan?

You can't help but admit Orochimaru's been acting weird of late. Not jumping on Sasuke's body, being "curious" about Sasuke's situation, almost bowing down to Sasuke by saying he would help him do whatever he wants him to do, and the whole thing about actually having a reason to take over the leaf.

All I'm saying is something smells fishy.

After reading your thread i'm wondering the same thing.
maybe he was preparing something or all of this, is part of his plan.
maybe Plot, who knows?!

Maybe he needed Sasuke to have EMS in order to open the stone doors in order to perform the jutsu with the mask, and possible I doubt they would have something that powerful just laying around without being heavily guarded so the war was the perfect time to do it.

Oro has no plan to get involved with the war, he said it himself. I believe he will allow the previous hokage to leave after Sasuke's decision. If his decision is to get involved in the war then maybe oro will follow. I would like to see Sasuke stop throwing his life down the drain, being one of the last Uchiha alive you would think he would start his clan over... that's just my thought... maybe hecould make a great ending to his life and to his clan.
