Why did Orochimaru stop sasuke from using Kirin against Team Seven?

Nothing of the sort. Sure there was the part where Orochimaru might have thought that they could kill more Akatsuki members. But the real reason why Orochimaru stopped Sasuke was because it would have turn really bad especially for Sasuke as weak as he was then to critically wound say Sakura for example in front of Naruto. Orochimaru wasn't stupid enough to let Sasuke risk his body against the Kyubi.

And obviously he wasn't going to use Kirin.

He wasn't to use Kirin as:
-Sasuke did not want to kill them
-He would have wiped himself
-No clouds, and no fire technique used to make them
-Orochimaru was surprised and commented on Sasuke's Chidori spear that he haven't seen such nature and shape transformation before, Oro likely didn't even know about Kirin.

if he did he would need alot of prep time anyway.

he needed itachi's amaterasu and his own katon to do it.

and probably orochimaru thought naruto and them could take down the other akatsuki members.

He DIDN'T NEED amaretsu he simply took advantage of the added heat

He wasn't using Kirin he would need it to rain and oro wanted naruto to take out more enemies so it could b less for him (Akasuki)

Well...it could of been a more incomplete version of Kirin.

Orochimaru: Sasuke-kun, you mustn't use "that jutsu." You know damn good and well that we have to follow the script. We can't kill Naruto, Sakura, Sai, or Yamato because they're main good guy characters.

Sasuke: Grrrr....*snarls*....dammit!

Kabuto: Do finish some more Akatsuki members, won't you Naruto-kun?

Sasuke: I don't care about that stupid script....I'm SO killing them next time.
