Maybe there is no other way to get the real bodies. Instead they used edo tenses to somewhat like use their bodies.
Also being edo tensei will make them regenerate Nike the original bodies.

Being an Edo means you're pretty much indestructible, until you're sealed. That wasn't the case with Pain's paths

And Yagura (the jinchuuriki of the threetails) was dead for a while, so to have at least 6 jinchuuriki, Edo Tensei was required.

Madara already stated as edo he can't become the jinchuriki of the juubi. Idk if that relates back to the beasts as well but I feel like it should

You know I never thought about that.. if the edo jinchuurikis can have their tailed beasts then why cant Madara be a jinchuuriki too? I assume becoming the juubis jinchuriki is a bit more complicated but still..

^ This seems the logical reason. They had been dead for quite some time in the series so many of them would be festering if simple embedded with the chakra rods, plus I don't think he can use them the way Nagato did, I think Kabuto had them set to be under his control

Uhm, there was a great point in doing so? As you see, Madara said he needs to be alive to be jinchuriki for the juubi. It's likely that the jinchuriki had some better compatibility with their bijuus, so only they could be their jinchuriki. Perhaps the seal was still there or something, who knows, it all depends on what form, they were revived in.
