Why did Obito slaughter the Uchiha clan?

Why did Obito slaughter the Uchiha clan/ assist Itachi in slaughtering the uchiha clan? I don't think the Uchiha ever did anything bad to him.The reason behind Danzo,Itachi and Shisui are easy to understand but what reason did Obito have to do it ?
