Why did Obito help Itachi slaughter the Uchiha clan? I know he said he held a grudge against the clan, but what was it? Was he possibly influenced by Madara to start hating the clan because the clan would't leave the Leaf with Madara?

Yes obito took on.madaras will also he had no parents he was an orphan uchiha. And uchiha were the only ninja who could interfere with his plans. They all have a sharingan and could read the tablet and no the truth about everything. Plus itachi asked for help
